What is Veterinary Physiotherapy?

Veterinary Physiotherapy is a profession which is science-based. Veterinary physiotherapists use research to produce bespoke holistic treatment plans for each patient following veterinary referral they will conduct a full assessment prior to conducting treatment. Veterinary Physiotherapists work alongside your pet's veterinary surgeons and other multidisciplinary teams (MDT) to work together to provide the best possible care and outcomes for the animal.

Veterinary Physiotherapy can aid the rehabilitation of orthopaedic, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions,  preparation and following surgery and maintenance of long-term conditions such as osteoarthritis (OA) by:

  • Reducing pain and inflammation

  • Improving movement

  • Improving the recovery rate

However, veterinary physiotherapy can also be used to improve performance and minimise injuries in competition and working animals as well as pets.
